Shaun Dwyer began training racehorses in his hometown of Mackay, North Queensland. 

Having had good success in North Queensland his desire to learn eventually led to Sydney and a 6 month stint as yard foreman for Gai Waterhouse and was followed by 2 1/2 years as Stable Foreman for the legendary Bart Cummings at Leilani Lodge. 

In 2003 Regimental Gal won the 2YO Magic MIllions race,  Shaun became “Queensland Trainer of the Year” and also received the Recognition Award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Profile of Queensland Racing’. 

In 2004 Shaun had his first (and hopefully not last) Melbourne Cup runner “Pacific Dancer” who was third favourite and came through impressive wins in the Grafton Cup 2,400m and the Geelong Cup 2,400m. Regimental Gal’s two Group 1 winning performances in the Autumn of that year inspired Shaun’s move to Victoria in 2009.

In Victoria Shaun trained Villa Verde and Miss Leonidis both Group winning fillies.

Since returning to Queensland in 2021 notable horses have been Last Chance winning the $150000.00 Gold Jewel Qlty Hcp 3yo&Up and more recently up and coming youngsters Anemacore, Shadow Cruiser, Ready to Ignite, La Cometa and Vesper Lynd.

With only 14 horses in work Shaun is very hands on in the stable with only one full time and 2 part time employee’s. Shaun himself is at the stables every morning at 1.30 am.

Nat McCall was born to be a horse trainer. Her father Ray McCall has been a successful trainer for many years in the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland and his knowledge was lovingly passed on to his daughter.  There was no escaping the horses which suited Nat just fine, as she loved working with them from a young age.

Her stable operates from 40 boxes at SCTC and owns its own spelling farm outside Gympie, that also acts as our off the track rehoming facility for horses after their racing career finishes. Being the only racehorse training operation in Qld that offers a complete end to end racing experience…

Nat has had some great success over recent years including winning the biggest prize of all in Queensland, the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap with stable star River Lad winner of $ 1,711,500 in prizemoney. Other notable winners for her stable have been Stakes winners Lady Echelon and Colour Charge along with many other recent metro performers in Winston Smurfhill with many more to come!

Healey Racing started in 2015 when Billy Healey went into partnership with his father Dale at just 18 years old. Billy took over the training when his father sadly passed away in 2018. Billy’s horsemanship is undisputed being a champion Show Jumper and successful breaker. He also worked for multiple Group 1 winning trainers in QLD and VIC.

His wife Kelly Slater-Healey moved to QLD from Sydney in 2018.  Kelly met Billy showjumping and continues to compete at a high level in the sport. Her father was also a successful trainer and bloodstock agent before retiring and Kelly also worked as foreman for Garry White in the Hawkesbury.

Biggest Achievements – Cosmic Fire Winning the Magic Millions Sunlight Consolation this year.

Biggest stable on the Sunshine Coast with 90 horses.

Benzou winner of the $150k Inglis Bonus at Hawkesbury.

Teenagers are not widely known for patience and because of the Queensland Rules Of Racing, Hansen could not strap his trainers’ badge on until he was 21

Darryl is Currently working 16 Horses on course every horses is treated to their induvial needs, Darryl also preforms Horse chiropractic work in his spare time so his horses and always in tip top shape ready to preform,

With a really nice hand of two year olds Darryl is looking forward to them hitting the race track soon.
