A live raceday. Sunshine Coast produce at its finest. And the winemaker at your table. 

The Winning Plate is a three-course chef-curated lunch celebrating the best of what this region grows and catches, hosted by Nick Wyndham of Bleasdale Vineyards, where every dish has been matched to one of his wines and every pour comes with the story behind it.  

From locally caught, Mooloolaba Yellowtail Kingfish provided by Daniel Street Seafood, to Kilcoy Black Diamond Beef from the Sunshine Coast hinterland, this is a menu built around place. Commencing at 12pm, food and wine service is timed around the final racing programme, Sky Racing tipsters will drop in to share their picks, and every guest goes in the draw for an exclusive barrier start experience.

KEY EVENT DETAILS

Some lunches are just lunch. This one has been built from the ground up. 

The Winning Plate is SCTC’s signature Curated Plate event, a three-course lunch hosted by Nick Wyndham, winemaker at Bleasdale Vineyards, where the kitchen and the cellar have worked together from the start. Every dish has been paired to a specific Bleasdale wine, and Nick will be there in person to tell the story behind each one, the vineyard, the vintage, and why it belongs alongside what’s on your plate. 

Bleasdale is a family winery with more than 170 years of history and some of the most awarded bottles in the country. This is a rare opportunity to sit at the table with the person who made them. 

The setting is The Atrium, SCTC’s premium dining room, with sweeping views across the racecourse and the energy of a live raceday just outside the door. Commencing at 12pm, food and wine service is thoughtfully timed around the final racing programme so guests are at the glass when it counts. Sky Racing tipsters will drop in during the afternoon to share their picks, and every guest goes in the draw to win an exclusive barrier start experience. 

THE MENU

The menu is anchored in what this region does best.  Yellowtail Kingfish pulled fresh from Mooloolaba’s waters opens proceedings in a bright, citrusy ceviche tart with rocket, lime, chili and coconut.  

The main course celebrates the Sunshine Coast hinterland with Kilcoy Black Diamond Beef Tenderloin, one of Queensland’s most prized cattle programs, served with a Dutch cream and bacon croquette, broccolini and jus.  

Dessert is a Dark Chocolate Panna Cotta with cherry compote and almond biscotti. 


The wines: 

The afternoon opens with a glass of Bleasdale NV Blanc de Blancs, crisp and fresh with apple acidity and almond character, awarded 94 points by James Halliday.  

From there, each course has been matched with purpose by Nick himself. The Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2025, fine and long with stone fruit and oak, is paired to the kingfish.   

The Generations Shiraz 2023, rich with ripe plum, dark berry, pepper and spice, sits alongside the beef. The flagship Frank Potts Cabernet Blend 2022, a Trophy winner scoring 96 points from Halliday, closes the afternoon alongside the panna cotta. 

Every ticket includes:  

Three-course lunch with course-by-course wine pairings hosted by Nick Wyndham, a glass of Bleasdale Blanc de Blancs on arrival, a visit from Sky Racing tipsters, an official raceday racebook, racecourse and Members Enclosure admission, and entry into the lucky door prize draw for a barrier start experience.
