The great racecourses of the world have one thing in common: on the big spring day, you feel it the moment you walk through the gate. The Avenue fills from end to end. The Enclosure hums with anticipation. And when the field rounds the bend for the $160,000 TAB Mooloolaba Cup, the whole course leans forward as one. This is Queensland’s summer racing carnival, opening for the season on the Sunshine Coast – one of the great days on the racing calendar, right here in our backyard.
Alex Hayes headlines a full day of live music, with Sunshine Coast local Beverly Thrills setting the scene from the moment the gates open. Billy J hosts Fashions on the Field. The Dock Mooloolaba brings coastal cool to The Pavilion. The Establishment, The Glasshouse, Parade Ring Terrace and Atrium Dining all open their doors. COURTESY BUSES
On feature racedays, we schedule courtesy buses with our transport partner Kinetic. Patrons depart from SCTC to depots – Caloundra RSL, Caloundra interchange, Maroochydore and Mooloolaba after the last race.
