Caloundra Cup Day 2026 is the Sunshine Coast's biggest raceday and the pinnacle of Queensland's winter racing carnival. Nine races, three Black Type contests, over $1.8 million in prize money, and back to back Melbourne Cup winners who launched their campaigns right here at Sunshine Coast Turf Club. This year, trainer Tony McEvoy joins the Calcutta as a special guest. The man who prepared Half Yours for her 2025 Caloundra Cup win before she went on to claim the Melbourne Cup, will be in the room sharing his insights ahead of the big race.

The TAB Calcutta is the perfect warm up to Caloundra Cup Day. A two-course gourmet lunch, a four-hour premium drinks package, expert racing insights, and the thrill of the Calcutta auction, where you can “own” a runner in the Caloundra Cup and win big if your horse salutes.

How the TAB Calcutta Works

The TAB Calcutta is a high-stakes sweep run across two stages.

Purchase a ticket/s (or form a syndicate with your table) for a chance to be randomly assigned a Caloundra Cup runner.
Auction – All drawn horses are then auctioned: 50% of the sale price goes to the prize pool, 50% to the ticket holder.

The final prize pool is split among first, second, and third place finishers.

Bid wisely. If your horse wins the Caloundra Cup, so do you.
